More Good Uranium News-with a Caution!

"....Senate budget amendment on uranium has been expunged from the final budget ..."

Good News! I know you are all anxious to hear that any remnant of the Senate budget amendment on uranium has been expunged from the final budget so I'm happy to report that we can all breathe a little easier. Georgia Herbert and Michele Satterlund have combed through the language online today and can find no evil lurking in the small print. We should all be celebrating the demise of both SB 525 and the backdoor budget amendments by fortifying our friends.

If you have not already contacted Delegates Clarke Hogan (info@clarkehogan.com, delchogan@house.state.va.us or 434-575-0000) and Watkins Abbitt (delwabbitt@house.state.va.us or 434-352-2880) to thank them personally, please do so right away. Clarke Hogan worked overtime as a budget conferee so we know he was our watchdog in that lengthy process. I know it would be especially meaningful for these delegates to know that you recognize and appreciate their heavy lifting on this issue when they've seen Mr. Coles' paid ad in the Martinsville newspaper blasting them for thwarting his "sincere efforts."

Mr. Coles promises that VUI will be back to continue their "public educational campaign" so we must respond in kind and begin immediately to inform citizens and our media contacts about what is really at stake. If you become aware of any effort to try to append this language somewhere before the special "veto" session on April 23, please contact us.

Thank you all for your dedication and commitment. We look forward to working with you all and your supporters in the coming months.
