SCC is planning a festivity to be held in Halifax to honor all of those who have worked so hard to defeat SB525 -- particularly Delegates Clark Hogan and Watkins Abbott. We've tentatively scheduled this for Saturday, March 22. We'll firm up the date ASAP.

Important Announcements from Jack Dunavant, SCC President to All SCC Affiliates
HALLELUJAH, THE WICKED OLD WITCH IS DEAD! FOR NOW...
Greetings, SCC Colleagues!
As you know, SB525 died an ignominious death at the hands of the House Rules Committee late Monday afternoon (March 3, 2008). It is now time for both a celebration and a renewed effort!
SB525 will be back before the General Assembly for the 2009 Session and we must be prepared to continue the fight with great vigor. It is vital that we focus our energy on getting the facts...our message...out to as many people as possible so that they can join us in the fight. We must spread the word by whatever means are available to us!
But first things first: A CELEBRATION!

Secondly, we cannot relax! We now have the luxury of one year to get our message out! Who among us would have dared to think, even a month ago, that we would ever have such a gift? Let us not waste time! It will fly by so we must use it wisely!
In order to begin the next phase of organization and planning, I am scheduling an SCC meeting for 7 pm, Thursday, March 13, at St. John's Church in Halifax. We need for everyone to attend...we have much work to do and we both need and value your input!
I'm looking forward to seeing you very soon!
My best to all,
Jack
