Oh, What a Night It Was................
(From Karen B. Maute, SCC Affiliate)
Hello All,
Whew! What a night! There was a wonderful showing at the Cultural Center and those who spoke covered a broad range of issues. The actual number of speakers was small. However, those of you who attended to show opposition to the SUP were a great and powerful force! I am urging all of you to attend Tuesday night's meeting of the Board of Zoning Appeals. Your attendance will be extremely important.
The vote tonight was close...4-3...recommending to deny a SUP. I am grateful to Dr. Miller and his insight into the situation and those who recommended denial of the SUP. We owe them much gratitude.
The Board of Zoning Appeals will have the final say.
The house was packed tonight. It is important that we do not lose momentum. Please come and bring friends, family and neighbors on Tuesday, Jan. 8th.
Thank you to Southside Concerned Citizens and their Chatham Chapter for all their hard work.
