Source: Canada Newswire)OTTAWA, April 30 /CNW Telbec/ - Greenpeace Canada and the European Renewable Energy Council (EREC) will launch Energy (R)evolution: A Sustainable Canada Energy Outlook:
When: Monday May 11, 2009
Time 07:45 am
Where: Sheraton Ottawa Hotel
Rideau Room
150 Albert St, Ottawa
RSVP: 613-567-9900 or info(at)deltamedia.com
This groundbreaking new report is a comprehensive look at the latest in Canada-specific solutions for dramatically reducing greenhouse gas emissions while growing our economy for the new century.
Greenpeace International's global Energy (R)evolution project is a world-wide plan to stop catastrophic climate change now. To bring the revolution home, Greenpeace Canada joined with the EREC to provide this solutions-based study that shows Canadians a way to dramatically reduce global warming emissions with the technology we already have.
Canada's climate policies are among the weakest in the world, and its emissions continue to increase. While Europe has agreed to greenhouse gas reductions of 20 to 30% by 2020, and the U.S. is aggressively forging a new green economy, the Canadian government continually lives up to its international reputation of being a climate villain.
Canada's Energy (R)evolution scenario is a blueprint for the transition to a clean, green energy supply, and Canadian governments have no excuse for inaction.
Members of the media are invited to attend the official launch of the report on May 11th at 7:45 AM at the Ottawa Sheraton Hotel. Breakfast will be provided.
