RICHMOND — Several issues related to coal-fired power plants are on the Virginia Air Pollution Control Board’s agenda.
The board meets Thursday morning in Richmond.
One of the issues is the health effects of coal dust from trucks traveling through the community of Roda in southwest Virginia.
The Department of Environ-mental Quality has looked into the problem and will present data from its air monitors.
The board also will hear updates on coal plants that are being built in Wise and Surry counties. The DEQ adjusted a mercury emissions permit for the Wise County plant Wednesday to meet a judge’s objections.
