Organizing for America listening tour- Danville (Listening Tour)

Comment: We need to attend the meeting, time to tell them the best way to help Virginia - true green jobs, maybe an interstate, better health care and problems with uranium mining, clean high tech jobs, clean energy (windmills, solar panels, tide energy, etc!

Organizing for America (OFA) has officially landed in Virginia. Organizing for America is dedicated to forwarding President Obama's agenda through grassroots action, and to creating a progressive, grassroots movement in Virginia.

In order to best serve Virginia, OFA will visit cities throughout the state to re-engage and mobilize the grassroots movement in support of President Obama.

For Organizing for America to succeed, we need to hear from you - your effort and commitment are the backbone of this movement, and your input will help guide our action in Virginia.

At this meeting, we will provide an overview of what the President has accomplished, describe the mission statement of our organization, let you know how you can get involved, and ask for your thoughts on how we can best organize Virginia going forward. Your ideas will be used to write a Virginia-specific plan for Organizing for America in 2009 and beyond.

Come, and make your voice heard. All are welcome. We look forward to meeting new people and seeing familiar faces. Help us build a progressive movement to improve Virginia and our country!

Danville a stop on another ‘listening tour’

DANVILLE — Danville seems to be attracting its fair share of nationally traveling Democratic tours lately.

The Democratic National Committee’s grassroots project, Organizing for America, will hold a meeting with local supporters in Danville on Thursday at the Danville Public Library as part of its nationwide “listening tour.”

The public, including supporters and volunteers from the general election, is invited to offer ideas on how OFA should organize in Danville to support President Barack Obama’s agenda, including health care reform.

“We have just one goal for these events — to listen,” said Brandyn Keating, Virginia OFA state director in a statement. “The historic dedication and commitment of our supporters is what brought us victory in November and is what will help us advance President Obama’s bold vision for the country over the coming years.”
