Tuesday, Chatham Elects 3 Council Members

This Tuesday, Chatham's Voters Choose 3 out of 5 Candidates
We ask each and every registered voter in Chatham to go to the polls on Tuesday and vote for the candidate(s) of your choice! This is your public duty and your Constitutionally-guaranteed public right.
How you choose who to vote for is again up to you. You may choose to vote for only one candidate, vote for only two candidates, or vote for three candidates, which is the number of seats available during this election. Some of the candidates running are first-time challengers; some are previously elected incumbents; one has served in the past but is not currently on the Town Council.
Thus, you have many options open to you as you enter the ballot booth. The most important thing is that you do enter the ballot booth! Don't leave the running of our Town up to others; make yourself heard. A single vote/voter is important as seen in the very recent past when an incumbent lost re-election by only 3 votes!
We suggest below issues that you might use to help you choose for whom to vote. However, only you can decide the final vote; only you can make a difference in your Town. Own your Town.........vote in Tuesday's election! It's your right......it's your duty......it's your obligation as a resident of the Town of Chatham.
Issues we suggest that may help you make your choice:
Where does the candidate stand......
  • Review/update of zoning ordinances
  • Town boundary adjustments
  • Shrinking economy's effect on revenues and services
  • Protection of residents' health and lifestyle from corporate chemical trespass
  • Communication with Town voters through accessible email addresses
  • Hiring of additional operators for water and sewer plants
  • Renovation of the old elementary school building
  • Retention of County offices within the Town limits
  • Potential purchase by the Town of the old Crider Tire Co building
  • Protection of residents' property values, livestock, and lands from corporate chemical trespass
  • Protection of residential districts' lifestyles from encroachment by business
  • Enticing more businesses to locate in the Town's business districts
