No Nuclear "Panacea" Anywhere In Sight

The ALLIANCE and SCC Support................

None of the Above !

As I hope to show you below, a quite simple and brief search on the internet reveals that all Presidential candidates including Bush, Obama, and Clinton are in full support of nuclear power as the energy alternative for America's future!

Additionally, please note the following:
-Obama, while an Illinois Senator, took a home-state nuclear emmisions issue and worked it so that he came out a "sweet and sour" hero to both environmentalists and the offending nuclear corporation, Exelon. Click here to see an NBC news video on this....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MqhISssMxnY
-"Two of Obama’s largest campaign fundraisers include Frank M. Clark and John W. Rogers Jr., both top Exelon officials. Even Obama’s chief strategist, David Axelrod, has done consulting work for the company." Read the rest of the article here.... http://gnn.tv/articles/3538/The_Obama_Glow
-"In 2005 Obama also voted in favor of Bush’s Energy Plan which included many favors for Bush’s oil cartel connections. To top it off Obama even opposed a House bill that would have radically altered the disastrous 1872 Mining Law that continues to allow companies to mine our public lands while they skate the costs of cleaning up their environmental wreckage." Same article as above link.
-"Clinton...put out a radio ad that refers to Obama as being "hip deep in financial ties" to Chicago-based energy giant Exelon Corp., a nuclear plant operator that supports the Yucca waste site. " From.....
http://blog.washingtonpost.com/the-trail/2008/01/18/for_both_clinton_and_obama_nuc.html
-Obama has received over 150 campaign donations from Exelon corporation employees totalling over $150,000. From the same article as the above link.
-"Clinton has received $68,650 in 34 contributions from NRG Energy, and the company's chief executive, David Crane, is listed as one of her Hillraisers -- meaning he has brought more than $100,000 in contributions into the campaign." Same article as above link.
-That same corporation has pledged more than $175 MILLION to Clinton's Global Initiative. Same artcle as above link.

Since I am apparently "preaching to the choir", is there any real need to cite all of Bush's and the Republican Party's transgressions here? I think not! I could go on and on about all of the various political partys' ties to nuclear power and to the use of pseudonums for their planned future ties, such as stated plans to invest heavily in clean energy (read.... nuclear). But, hey, what's the point?
In fact, there is no point in trying to tie one party or another or one candidate or another to any perceived nuclear aggression by said political entity. The fact is that all political entities and individuals have to rely on donations from corporations to win election and then the coveted RE-election!

Rather, we should focus our attention and energies on what we can really control and have a real impact on, namely, the election of local governing bodies that will pass coporate tresspass ordinances!

Enough said, I hope, and I hope that SCC can remain an inclusive organization that represents all affected citizens and not those of just one political slant or another.
