Headlines with Portent for the Future?

Tornado Touches Down In Gretna
Chatham Water Plant Closed Due to Contamination
Both of these headlines are based off of real situations that occurred near the proposed uranium mine at the Coles Hill, Gretna location and in the Town of Chatham within the last few days. While probably unrelated now, that may not be the case in the future if a uranium mine and milling operation is allowed to open here.
What if the tornado had hit the milling operation? What if the ensuing dispersion of uranium waste and dust had been strewn around for miles and miles by the tornado? What if our water supply had been ruined for generations to come? Who would pay for the cleanup? Would anyone stay here after such a horrific event? How long would it take for the local uranium corporations to declare bankruptcy and leave the financial diaster to us? Then, truly, we would indeed become a "Sacrifice Zone" as we would be written off and allowed to wither away.
Now is the time for Chatham Town Council and the Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors to stand up for us, defend us, and pass Corporate Tresspass Ordinances!

I just read another tornado story from Oklahoma on the Cranium people's Web site -- this one went through a Superfund site!
