Comment: No more French Connection on Nuke Power! Nuke power is too expensive, proven to cause cancer to close by neighbors! Huge CO2 problems with Nuke plants, from building plants, processing the uranium and uranium mining!

Constellation Energy Group Inc.'s (CEG: 28.68, -0.3, -1.04%) second-quarter profit dove 95% on Friday, weighed down by Maryland regulators' decision to delay approval for the company’s nuclear power business deal with Electricite de France SA (EDF.FR).

The company’s net income fell to $8.1 million, or 4 cents per share, a major decline in profit since the $171.5 million, or 95 cents per share reported during the same period last year.
Meanwhile, revenue dropped in the second quarter from the previous year’s $4.7 billion to $3.8 billion.

The electricity company based in Baltimore raised its expectations for its 2009 earnings-per-share to a range of $3.10 to $3.30, up from the previous prediction of $2.90 to $3.20 per share.
