McDonnell in Lynchburg, Deeds in Roanoke

Comment: What does McDonnell mean about the statement:"One of his plans is to improve nuclear power in Virginia using natural resources"? The state of Virginia trusts the French and what the French has done to their former colonists. We demand to know what this person plans for Virginia and uranium mining? Is France behind the whole uranium mining push, they are pushing the Canadians? Contact both Gubernatorial candidates and demand them to tell the truth!

Lynchburg and Roanoke, VA - Gubernatorial candidate Bob McDonnell paid a visit to Lynchburg on Friday, meeting supporters at Depot Grill. He also stopped by Areva to discuss nuclear power.

One of his plans is to improve nuclear power in Virginia using natural resources. However, a major topic of discussion was his plan on healthcare.

McDonnell tells us the quality of healthcare in Virginia is great. He says, he wants to improve access to healthcare for the uninsured and also wants to address cost issues.

"I think we need to put more focus on prevention to be able to save money, we need to promote individual medical savings accounts better in Virginia so that people can pay their own way if their not insured. We need to expand the ability for small business people to cover their employees better by giving them access to low-cost group plans," McDonnell said.

McDonnell says the Obama administration's plan will result in increasing costs, less choices and longer waiting lines.

In them meantime, Democratic challenger Creigh Deeds was in the Roanoke Valley on Friday afternoon.

The Senator's first stop in the area was at the Texas Tavern in downtown Roanoke where he mingled with customers and ordered a famous "Cheezy Western".

Afterwards, Deeds gave his take on the healthcare situation. "I'll have two big challenges when it comes to health care: One is to figure out how to help those people who have insurance, keep it, how to bring down costs and people who are unemployed have the chance to keep their insurance intact... I've got a plan for that.Number two, figure out to get coverage to the million Virginians who don't have health care coverage," Deeds said.

The State Senator also made a campaign stop in Salem.
