Levy a Tax on Uranium Mined Here?

To the editor:
There seems to be a lot of controversy over uraniummining in Pittsylvania County. It seems to me locallawmakers could pass a fairly large tax on uraniummining and also require the mining company to pay forthe clean-up costs of their mine. I don't expect anycompany to be interested in operating a mine inVirginia if they know they can't make a profit.
